Express Entry
Express Entry is a system developed by Canada to manage online Permanent Residence applications under the Economic Class.

Applicants must first be eligible under one of the Economic Class programs to submit an Express Entry Profile:
1. Federal Skilled Worker
2. Federal Skilled Trades
3. Canadian Experience Class
4. Certain Provincial Nominee Programs
Eligible applicants from all over the world submit Express Entry profiles and are all placed in a pool of candidates. Each candidate are assigned a certain number of points based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) matrix based on factors such as:

• Age
• Level of Education
• Language Proficiency in English and/or French
• Skilled Work Experience in Canada
• Skilled Work Experience outside Canada
• Valid Job Offer in Canada
• Post-secondary Education in Canada
• Provincial Nomination Certificate
• Siblings in Canada who are
Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizens

IRCC conducts Express Entry draws approximately every 2-3 weeks, depending on immigration targets at the time, to invite candidates to apply for Permanent Residence. Candidates with higher points have a better chance to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence.
